Very nice, Sayaka. Yes, onigiri can just as well be square and there are a million variants one can do, all after taste or what one can find. Yes, larger nori sheets are needed, but that is good. I like when there is an abundance of filling/ingredients. Eggs and shio kombu is an excellent kombo. The "taco" and cheese variants are inventive! Other great ingredients are mentaiko and shirasu. I was many times in japan and every time they cook rice they wash it before so why don't you?
