Reason being is that a kettle grill is relatively small, and you’ll get all the smoke you want regardless of the upper vent location. You do want keep the temp. gauge over the meat, away from the fire; otherwise the temp. gauge will read much hotter than actual cooking grate.]]></description>

Dug out my 20 year old 22&#034; Weber Kettle the other day.  Put new grates in it.  It is like brand new.  Ready to get back to the basics!]]></description>
