I recently spent an extensive period of time hospitalised with a serious knee infection. During the first week, the cutlery issued with the generally awful pre-packed and pre-cooked meals was single use birchwood. I truly believe that the person who devised this range of flatware NEVER actually used their products. They were even more awful than the "food" on offer.

You can get packages of disposable Chinesium real metal cutlery from the dollar store for next to nothing. 🤷🏻‍♂️ The metal might be from a decommissioned nuclear power plant knowing how shady and immoral the Chinese are, but the cutlery is cheap and it probably won’t hurt anyone to use it once.

Remember that compostables have to go in compost to break down, not in regular trash! Otherwise they’re just as bad as single use plastic.
