This is very disappointing. I didn't decide to watch this recipe demo to be subjected to built-in product advertising. Enough with the ads. They even distract from the recipe. 😮

The original mandate of Cook's Illustrated was reviewing independence and no ads. I know we're in a brave new world, but please drop the repeated fatuous product placement references.

I like this. It's is a simple quick sauce that uses butter and shallots. Almost all my sauces are made like that. I must make this dish. But I live in a small coastal community in Oregon, and I doubt I can purchase that Korean paste. But my store would order it if I give a brand name. Can any of you awesome cooks out there suggest one. I would appreciate very much.

I loved the recipe and the host, but disliked the video because of how ads were handled.
The knife ad makes sense, because it scored high in your testing, but why are you advertising that pot? The fact that you didn't say whether or not it scored high in your testing makes me very confused about whether ATK actually endorses it or not.
I think this undercuts your credibility as an organisation.

ATK has to pay the bills somehow. This is the modern world. This high level of production costs a lot of money. Plenty of 'channels' to choose from – They're taking their shot. This one is a bit slow and overproduced for me. Nik has to do such a locked down performance. He pulls it off, but – damn!

It’s funny seeing everybody get their undies in a twist over a zwillimg product placement. You know, the company that’s been around for over 200 years and can be found widely in kitchens, department stores, and professional restaurants. ATK isn’t shilling for some random YouTuber brand subscription-based product or VPN service. It’s just quality pots, pans, and knives you would find anywhere. I would prefer if they saved the ad read and placement until the end of the video.

If anyone wants an easy version of something thats 80% similar, just add gochujang when making your Pasta alla vodka sauce. It makes it so much better
