I had this for the first time when I went to Thailand. I was HOOKED! I had it 3 times a day!!! IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE!!!
Now I make a semi-acceptable mock version just to satisfy the craving. My problem is that it's really tough to get mangoes here in the
middle-of-nowhere upstate NY..

ATK used to be about finding ways to make food more approachable, but year after year they introduce recipes like this that make you go out and buy a wok and steamer basket. Can't you just teach us how to use the stuff you've already recommended us stocking our kitchens with for the last 20+ years?

If you cannot find good mango I think peaches in syrup could be an excellent substitute.
