Next time you're in central Texas, you should tag me. For one, there are a ton of "in the sticks" BBQ joints you could check. But I'd love for you to test my custom reverse-flow (made in Chile) smoker!

You only had time to go to the touristy places? If you are going to try to mimic Guy Freri do some research. If I had friend's come from out of town I would NEVER take them to any
of those places. Woodyard, Slaps, LC's, Big T's, Q-39, B B's Lawnside. All much better. Who does not order the sauce on the side when doing a taste test? Dry rub only. If there is no smoke it's not BBQ. Kansas City has REAL BBQ but you never saw any of it. Very Sad. Next time just stop and get a McRib!

KC BBQ is different than Texas BBQ, also if they're not hitting it right at the first or second run of the food it's not going to be nearly as good.. I know a KC BBQ'er and it's all hot and fast, 300 degrees. Also said you gotta hit them right when the run comes out, not 4 hours later when it's been sitting under a heat lamp. And it's great BBQ but it's not barky texas BBQ. That's what great about BBQ, you make it what you want. Lastly, you missed the best, Q39.

I am not really sure what the goal of these reviews are, unless it is to continually trash the mom and pops all over this country as compared to the perfect barb you create. These folks have their livelihood's on the line for these reviews, and you trash them one after another, in a rather elitist and snobby way. I thought this channel was worth watching early on, and that you had my back as a new person in barbecue, but these reviews are pushing me to find a new channel. #1 rule for a Y tube channel person...don't be a D**k.

Not gonna lie, kind of a poor showing and review format. Texas isn't that far from KC, would a two day trip and four full meals of been that hard? I would of skipped Arthurs and Gates on health inspections alone, both places are always dead for a reason. Replace those with Q39 and Slaps, then do lunch and dinner for two days at all 4 places. When I go try a new BBQ joint I order every piece of meat on the menu and every side to split with my group of friends. If you did that I think you would get better results. Anthony Bourdain would rolling in his grave watching you eat a 1/4 Z-Man at one of the the worlds best BBQ institutions.

I don't know about that Ted Lasso fella, but I travel the western part of Missouri for work. Here's some places that I keep going back to:
Q39 (KC) - for hifalutin folks but the burnt ends poutine makes me want to annex Canada.
Como Smoke & Fire (Como) - gas station one, the burnt ends can be hit or miss but when they hit, they are amazing.
City Butcher & Barbecue (Springfield) - burnt ends gave me a grease stain on my shirt and I left it there on purpose.
Hog Tide (Aurora) - it's in the middle of nowhere but worth the trip.
I also like the pulled pork at Bates City BBQ, just off I-70.
