If you use a crock pot, don't just throw it all in and start it … you still gotta saute and brown all that stuff beforehand, get the flavors going. You don't want it to look and taste like you just boiled a bunch of stuff.

I absolutely loved this recipe, was a little skeptical about using the peppers, but thoroughly enjoyed eating them . The gravy was amazing, served over rice. This is the only way I will make a pork butt! I’m making this for my favorite deacon and his family this weekend. Going to send it to them pot and all!
