Can I use Adzuki beans or does it have to be red beans or kidney beans? I think I bought these Adzuki beans from an Asian market.

I absolutely LOVE red bean paste and made some recently to control the amount of sugar – store bought pastes are WAY too sweet for my taste as it overwhelms the delicious nuttiness of the beans. I knew to add vanilla but the butter too – OH MY, a must try!! We had it spread on buttered toast and the texture contrast was delicious but soft on soft is next level indulgence. I don't need more carb temptations in my life but I'll make an exception for red bean paste because of the fibre LOL! Cheers from Oz!
