To represent bare steel electric griddles, you should have chosen something like Vevor brand. They have tall "splash guards" on three sides, so runoff shouldn't be an issue. That said, I have seen videos of how restaurants clean their large griddles, and it's more work than a griddle with a ceramic coating. (I don't have a Vevor.)

I have never had an electric griddke that actually heated evenly. Hot and cold spots, and one that would reach temperature, but then couldn't maintain it. Even for something like pancakes. I wish you would have tested temperature across the entire surface.

Sending a big thankyou to the comments section! I find the comments section way more useful than ATK’s reviews – and the comments here are another great example. I know the company is huge, and they always bang on about how many people are involved etc; but they are really superficial reviews. Either that – or I know waaaaaay too much about espresso machines. 😂

The problem with the flat cast-iron griddle is splatter. I don't know why you chose to ignore this. I love my Lodge 12" cast iron skillet, but the flat top means more clean up on your stove.

Another bonus to the cast iron griddle is that it also can serve as a baking/pizza stone. The oven is where I store mine.

I have the Lodge cast iron griddle. I just wish it was a little larger. I mostly use mine to make pancakes & could use a couple more inches in length and width

I'm in a one person household, and have no complaints about the smaller Presto Cool-touch griddle. Like most current griddles, the non-stick coating is ceramic.
