Never let us down, with 7.4 grains of hardness we've only descaled twice. A known problem however is the water reservoir gets hair line cracks, Ours have never leaked but others have stated theirs leaked on the bottom seal. BTW, none of our ever failed, we just wanted new undented coffee makers over the years, they still made great coffee when we replaced them. (We've never seen them below $140 )

Try twice that much. And good for Bonavita if it can sell a bridge to idiots. A simple pour over with a filter is about 0.02¢ and takes just 5 minutes with water as hot as you like. No $2 coffee machine can beat that.
