I love a good Daiquiri, and for the last several years I've been ordering in and then teaching bartenders how to make it. I'm always surprised to find bartenders that can make a perfectly fine Manhattan or Martini, but who's faces go blank when you ask for a Daiquiri. I especially like your comparison to a vinaigrette, I never thought of it that way but it makes perfect sense.
