I'm Brazilian and my sister who lives away recently messaged me calling me a picky eater and saying I ruin the family reunions because I don't eat meat so mom can't put meat in the food when we reunite (because I thought it would be easier for everyone I always say that I'm ok with eating just rice, beans and a salad or some boiled veggies, I eat whatever they prepare that doesn't have meat in it). Yes I could just take my own food to these reunions but I think eating something different would be awkward and would make us not feel close to each ther. I got kinda pissed off because is adding meat to the beans more important than being with a member of your family? For her it probably is cause she chose to go somewhere with no family members around.
I remembered of a time when she came to our city to spend some days, we discussed and then had a physical fight, I definitely do not regret slapping her and I can't wait for her to come back so I can pull her hair again. Of course I still love that bitch tho.
What I wanted to say is being vegetarian is lonely, people judge and isolate you. Some will do whatever they can to invalidate you so when they do that fist fight them if you need cause you are fucking valid.

I'm a Reductionist Atheist Antinatalist Animal Rights Vegan (AAARV). I have no interest in eating with others,
but I DO love vegan foods, especially fake meat products and I have a huge interest in cellular agriculture, genetic engineering, and biocultured meat.

My older sister surprised me one day many years ago by agreeing with me that she has NO interest in eating with others.
There exist many MANY different activities families can do together that don't involve eating:
skydiving, skateboard park, bungee jump, amusement park, shopping, attending university lectures.
