Just cooked this on my Q 1200, I'm using the smaller basket (23x19cm) Weber make and it works just as well and fits the Q1200 nicely. I didn't have any Italian sausage so I sued cooking Chorizo and I also boiled some new potatoes and added them to the basket for the last 10 mins to crisp them up, Really enjoyed it thanks!

I mostly did this in the charcoal kettle but it'll work in the Q220 and 3200 equivalents.
