Cento is not DOP. It is certified by Agri-Cert, an independent third-party agency. They are held to a high standard, but that standard is not DOP. It is the first answer on the FAQ on their web site.

Safeway brand “San Marzano-style” tomatoes are grown in CA and are what I choose over, say, Cento, to make Marcella’s butter sauce, etc. Def check them out if you’ve got a Safeway near you.

Whatever tomatoes that are the cheapest, and the style i need im getting. Tomatoes are tomatoes to me regardless of where there grown. It's whatever seasoning thats in it is what is the deciding factor.
