Classic Burger Recipe

#### Instructions:

1. **Prepare the Patties:**
– In a large bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder (if using). Be careful not to overwork the meat.
– Divide the meat into four equal portions and shape them into patties, slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink during cooking. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

2. **Cook the Patties:**
– Preheat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat.
– Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your desired doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover the grill or pan to melt the cheese.

3. **Toast the Buns:**
– While the patties are cooking, butter the insides of the burger buns.
