ZERO OIL RECIPE✅
Ambul Theeyal is a traditional Sri Lankan dry fish curry made with tuna, goraka (kudam puli/ sour fruit) and spices and is Slow-cooked without a drop of oil. This age-old recipe is naturally low in fat, rich in flavor, and perfect for clean eating. Ideal for weight loss, it’s a wholesome dish rooted in Sri Lanka’s village-style cooking.

A quick recipe
🐟To a stone grinder add 3 pieces of kudam puli / goraka (approx.1&1/4 tbsp paste)& crush it.
🐟Then add 3&1/2 tbsp pepper powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder, salt and make a thick paste.
🐟To a bowl add the prepared kudam puli spices paste & add water to make a thick paste.
🐟Add 300 grams of tuna fish and coat the masala.
🐟Rest for 30 min.
🐟To an earthen clay pot add banana leaf, curry leaves and place the marinated fish pieces.
🐟Add green chilli, 1 inch cinnamon and cover and cook for 25 min.
🐟Now remove the lid and cook until it gets dry.
🐟Serve it with rice.
