I love coming to visit the Dallas area, because I get to see my favorite people in BBQ (the Goldee’s crew), their food and customer experience at Goldee’s is truly one of a kind and I think a big part of that is because of their deep bonds of friendship. I hope I was able to translate that for you all in this video!
Alvin Zhou Film’s documentary on Goldee’s inspired me to start BBQ Story, so this is my tribute to his legendary original!

Great video! I guess the pink hat is now retired.
Even if they don’t get number 1 again, Goldee’s should get some kind of award for most significant influence in bbq – all the other people they have trained who now have top notch bbq joints, a spin off restaurant to produce a faster yet still high quality product, their own backyard pit with a revolutionary design that now has influenced other pit makers to reduce the hot spot area, the use of the M&M rotisserie which now is in many places, the calling into question of long standing bbq techniques, the influence on YouTube bbq, and who could forget Jirby’s bbq video game sessions! Who else has done or could do this much?

Absolutely awesome, thank-you. I am an amateur smoker with just a pellet smoker, but I do watch a lot of videos about BBQ places around the country. I have never lived in Texas, but I travelled to Brownsville a lot for work and that is where I got my love for good BBQ.
Goldees is definitely on my bucket list and I have watched several videos of people trying it and always agreeing with the #1.
Over the weekend I smoked a pork butt and some BBQ beans and shared them with my neighbors. It really is a labor of love! Smoke on!!
