I made this tonight minus the V-8 cause it wasn’t in the budget;( I actually borrowed a can of diced tomatoes from a neighbor)and used a can of whole tomatoes that I quartered and put in towards the end. It was delicious!!!😋
Tip put the chili powder and cumin with the hamburger when you brown it. Spices bloom best with fats. You will get a better flavor.

A small detail caught my attention – namely that you added the cornstarch to the soy- sesame beef sauce! I never do that and my sauces are always very watery and therefore not very pleasant to eat with rice. I learned something new, thank you so much❤❤❤

And remind everyone to check for sales. I can walk to a Safeway and they had a 5 lb bag of potatoes or onions for .94 cents each. Limit three. And I got canned corn at Walmart for 50 cents each. A simple meal can just be three items. And Jiffy Corn Muffin mix is 50 cents. I also got eggs for $2.27 with coupon at Safeway. I live in a rural town and only have two stores. Both within a mile. Sometimes less is more and appreciated. I have always lived within my means and these videos are great ideas. Love your work Julia.

What’s the conversion beans? You’re using canned beans but my family is working to switching to dry beans due to the price and space in our pantry. Don’t wanna make too much and waste it 🥲

Congrats on the new cookbook! I love these recipes! We've been using chorizo and ground turkey since they are less expensive, but I know they will work with these recipes. I have made my version of the queso dip for years! It has become a tradition around the holidays, especially for New Year's! Can't wait to see what you make next! Have a great week!
