  1. Legally, you call it cool whip candy because calling it 3 Musketeers can get you in trouble. What you made is basically chocolate covered fudge…the melted chocolate is too heavy to be 3 Musketeers. I'm sure it tastes good though.

Instead of melted chocolate, use chocolate pudding mix. It will actually make it fluffier and more airy like an actual 3 Musketeers bar, little secret…that is basically what they use in the real thing.

Tips for working with the candy. One, warm your spoon in hot water before you spread. Do it near the sink so you can refresh it if needed, but the heat will help spread it and the water leaves no residue behind that can alter the flavor.

Two, heat your knife to cut things like this from the freezer. It's safer.

Also, if you use the pudding instead of melted chocolate, you won't have to use the freezer. Just refrigerate.

To coat in chocolate, melt your chocolate and add a small amount of oil. Something neutral, like canola or vegetable oil. Beat it with a whisk or use a mixer for a minute or so to incorporate. That will allow you to pour the chocolate instead of dipping.

Simply place the candy on a rack inside of a sheet pan, pour the chocolate slowly over the top. You can heat the pan underneath to recover the chocolate for a second use if you want.

I mention this because if you're making large amounts, the dipping becomes tedious.

This is what candy companies do, which is they the chocolate has the texture it does, but it's invaluable when you're making large amounts.

    Cheers.
