Hearing that the berries were mediocre grocery store berries is oddly inspiring, as though to say these recipies are worth making even without the most perfect-est ingredients.
For the record, I made bomb ass meringues from your meringue video and they were delicious.
And I will be making the Eton Mess as I’ve been craving meringue again. Yum!
This is inspiring me to adapt Melissa Clark's strawberry gingersnap cake recipe to be a parfait. Crumbled cookies on the bottom, make the mascarpone and strawberry cream for the middle, and then the ginger-line macerated strawberries on top. Excellent flavor combination but the original recipe is messy to assemble so thank you, Claire!
