When we reach 500 subscribers, we will donate a flock of chicks gift donation through Heifer International. A flock of chicks gift donation helps provide a family in need with a starter flock of 10 to 50 chicks, along with the training that will empower them to turn our donation into a lifetime of opportunity. Each flock of chicks:
Provides eggs and protein for nourishment
Boosts income through sales of extra eggs and offspring
Ensures security for generations through Passing on the Gift
Chickens require little space and can thrive on readily available scraps; this allows families to make money from the birds without spending much. And since a good hen can lay up to 200 eggs a year, your flock of chickens gift provides a steady source of nutrition and income.
INGREDIENTS – Psst.. I do not include salt, pepper or water in my 3 and 5 ingredient recipes.
3 cups all purpose flour
2 TEASPOONS instant or RapidRise yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups hot water (up to 130° F)
(about 2 Tablespoons extra flour for shaping)
DIRECTIONS
Combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in water until it’s well combined.
Cover with plastic wrap and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour or more.
After 45 minutes, place a 4 to 6-quart Dutch oven with lid in a cold oven and preheat to 450° F.
After the dough has rested for the hour, place it on a well-floured surface and sprinkle with a little flour. Using a scraper fold dough over 10-12 times & shape into a rough ball.
Place on parchment paper. Lift the parchment paper with the dough and transfer gently into the hot pot. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Let cool 15 minutes before slicing.

If you'd like to learn how to bake bread 🍞 this is a wonderful place to start!
What is your favorite thing to cook 👩🍳 from scratch?
Just made my dough and waiting for it to rise. I didn’t have the herbs you mentioned so I’m adding some seeds instead. This would be my first time making bread ever. Thanks 😊
how much hot water?
I’m so excited to try this recipe never in my life that I think you can make homemade baked bread in one hour🤗
When it comes to cooking I know close to nothing but this bread is way easy and fast, I love this recipe, much love! <3
This is the best video! I have always failed at making bread and tonight, I successfully made this recipe!! Thank you!
Made this today! Wanted something to dip in my soups, curries, and stews, and this is great. 3 cups of flour to 1 1/2 cups water ended up being pretty battery and sticky for me, so I used closer to 5 cups, about half wheat flour and half all purpose. Turned out great!
I'm not sure why, I bake a lot and haven't had this issue before, but I followed the recipe exactly and after rising, my dough is straight liquid. I have a cake batter right now essentially. I saw a few other comments say a similar thing but I seriously have no clue as to why that happened
I Made your recepie again last night. I followed everything to a T and when I took it out and cut into it after cooling the dough was very moist. I used bread flour this time. What do you think caused the bread to be moist ? Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Colleen.
I have failed on all other breads like yours but I made yours and it turned out beautifully
blah blah blah just illustrate the recipe…..omg, people love to hear them-self talk

What can I use if I do not have a Dutch oven to bake it in? Thank you.
I'd have love to see a close capture of the slice, that would be the true proof to show how earated or dense it is ….
could i make this without a dutch oven?
Tha.nk you so much👏Your happiness is contagious , I love it 😍 You got me to make my own bread💖
This ended up being one of the worst breads I’ve ever made and I don’t know why… followed the recipe exactly but my dough was extremely sticky, maybe it was my flower? Just an FYI for anyone making this, might want to start with a little less water and see how it does
I’m making it right now! I’ll edit to how is comes out!!!: it came out great
Thanks Cheri! I love fresh bread – and so easy!💖
Are all these measurements American??
This looks fantastic, thank you! What size pot are you using to bake the bread please? Thanks again.xx
This is legit! Made bread for the first time yesterday using this recipe. My family ate the whole thing in 1 sitting. This is definitely a keeper.

Got my bread in the bowl rising and my dutch oven heating up in the oven and a huge pot of vegetable and cabbage beef soup cooking on the stove… Perfect Autumn day for this… Thanks for the easy peasy quick recipe! Liked and Subscribed
Making this now! Thank you!
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing!! And – you’re adorable!
Thank you so much for this easy recipe! I tried it today. I covered the dough with abeego reusable beeswax paper, and it rose just fine. After about an hour and a half, when I turned the bowl over, the dough was really runny. What could cause that? I used the same ingredients except for no sugar. Thank you!
nice rockabilly style 🙂
i have a lady just like you cooking on TV back in my country

Excellent, trying today! Thank you.
