  1. I started using a chimney starter years ago and it is the way to go. Unfortunately the price of our local news paper got so expensive we switched to digital version. Newspaper with a squirt of vegetable oil is the best and most economical way to start the coals. I now use the paraffin cubes so I have to make sure I keep those in stock. I can get them fairly cheap.

  2. i dont use a chimney and i use lighter fluid. what i do is put the charcoal in the grill light lighter fluid and then ignite it, let it burn abit then put a electric leaf blower to it. it ashes over in just 2 minutes and no i dont taste any lighter fluid because when you do it like this the super high heat literally vaporizes all of it.
