  1. Yes funny story about skirt steak. My wife being from Mexico says that it used to be a cheap cut of meat because nobody wanted it. It was used for ground beef. She says as soon as you guys. (Americans) found out it was so tasty they got screwed. Now we have to pay 10 bucks a pound. Lol! It used to be like 1.99 a pound.

  2. Nobody knew what skirt steak was?

Even as far back as the 50’s, Mexicans were “Hold our Cerveza! We want ‘Faja’!” (Technically we called it ‘belt’.. absolutely delicious)

As far back as the mid 50’s, our Dad would stop off at an American Butcher, where for 25 cents (one quarter) they sold him 15-30 pounds of junk, consisting of skirt steak and cow tongue. He always heard them laughing at the “dumb-as-dirt-mexican” as he walked out with great food for his wife and six kids. We LOVED that stuff! Still do! Thanks, Gringos!

  3. Make your regional correction. Yankees didn't know what this stuff was for. Here in Texas we knew for over fifty years. Y'all were waaaaaay behind the curve on good food up north. (Yankees are anyone further than the Southern Missouri border if you're confused). 😅

  4. Pfffh. The skirt wasn't going into any ground beef or brisket here in Texas for decades. These were Yankee problems. Hell in the 90s you couldnt find a decent meal up north if your life depended on it. I know because ilI lived up there then. Couldnt find a Dr. Pepper at a sinhle fast food place. That tells you all you needed to know about up north. Y'all are kids what do ypu know anyway. Clearly y'all werent old enough to work 😂

  5. South Texas guy here. Grew up with skirt steak fajitas and brisket all the time. I can't even fathom these being ignored cause people didn't know about them. Fn WHAT?! No wonder they were so cheap back then lol. Demand just wasn't there.
