So pretty much you guys sucked at butchering years ago đ
Nah you just didnât charge millions for every cut, the beast still got sold
Yes funny story about skirt steak. My wife being from Mexico says that it used to be a cheap cut of meat because nobody wanted it. It was used for ground beef. She says as soon as you guys. (Americans) found out it was so tasty they got screwed. Now we have to pay 10 bucks a pound. Lol! It used to be like 1.99 a pound.
Skirt steak is also known as Fajita. Sso when people say Chicken Fajita i always ask wher is the skirt steak on a chicken?
Texan here from Houston. You not saving the skirt steak made skirt stake go from $.89 per lb to $9.43 per lb now. So many Tejanos cant afford it any more. This is proof you are to blame…. đȘđȘđȘ
Thanks for the video đđ»
I grew up eating skirt. Everyone knew what it was. But your videos are awesome and it shows how much yall have grown. Keep it up yall great stuff here!
Skirt steak is churrasco in Latin cultureâŠIâve been eating that since I was a kid in the 80s.
In the 90s thats the only steak my family ate bc it was cheap..
As long as all the meat gets eaten, I donât see the point. Itâs just another way to jack up the price on meat. I understand certain cuts have different texture, tastes, ect. But my point still holds true.
It's not skirt steak. It's called fajita.
Nobody knew what skirt steak was?
Even as far back as the 50âs, Mexicans were âHold our Cerveza! We want âFajaâ!â (Technically we called it âbeltâ.. absolutely delicious)
As far back as the mid 50âs, our Dad would stop off at an American Butcher, where for 25 cents (one quarter) they sold him 15-30 pounds of junk, consisting of skirt steak and cow tongue. He always heard them laughing at the âdumb-as-dirt-mexicanâ as he walked out with great food for his wife and six kids. We LOVED that stuff! Still do! Thanks, Gringos!
Make your regional correction. Yankees didn't know what this stuff was for. Here in Texas we knew for over fifty years. Y'all were waaaaaay behind the curve on good food up north. (Yankees are anyone further than the Southern Missouri border if you're confused). đ
Pfffh. The skirt wasn't going into any ground beef or brisket here in Texas for decades. These were Yankee problems. Hell in the 90s you couldnt find a decent meal up north if your life depended on it. I know because ilI lived up there then. Couldnt find a Dr. Pepper at a sinhle fast food place. That tells you all you needed to know about up north. Y'all are kids what do ypu know anyway. Clearly y'all werent old enough to work đ
South Texas guy here. Grew up with skirt steak fajitas and brisket all the time. I can't even fathom these being ignored cause people didn't know about them. Fn WHAT?! No wonder they were so cheap back then lol. Demand just wasn't there.
Y'all didn't, we Mexicans have been enjoying fajitas FOREVER!!!!!
Us Mexicans knew exactly what skirt steak was. Skirt steak use to be a cheap meat to buy back in the day but then other people started buying it and now itâs expensive.
2003? Really? How did u guys even get started throwing away money like that?? SMFH
I started in a meat market in Huntington Beach CA when i was 15, we broke down hind and fore quarters, skirt steaks was always the cut of choice for fajitas, love you guys, your videos are awesome!
Who is listening to meat podcasts? Iâm genuinely curious what your normal listener audience is
