NO gloves, no safety glasses .. . makes me think you dont' split much wood! 😉
Can you, instead of starting with coal, start with the desire wood you want to cook with?
Get a blowpoke
I have been using my new Oklahoma Joe reverse flow for about 6 weeks
I have watched so many videos and no doubt this has taught me more than all previous put together 😅
This guy is literally Mr. relevant
Thank you for uploading this video Jeremy, I have that exact NexGrill and I did a brisket on it last year…It did turn out ok, but i was constantly standing by it just to make sure everything went ok, but with these tips and tricks, I hope my next brisket cook will go a lot smoother
Would u also seal all areas that leak smoke ?
I have this exact same grill this video just answered every question I had about smoking in this grill
Got a cheaper range smoker for my birthday but so far I love it. Videos like these help alot. Thanks for this clear and informative video!
Great video. Your fire management videos are the best & have helped being good flavor to my bbq
When adding more lump coal why not light it in the charcoal chimney then add it ?
I’d suggest some eye pro chopping wood. Just my 2 cents lol
This saved a 9-pound pork butt for us. ✌️👍
When you add the wood and it spikes the temperature really high how do you go about that situation?
This is excellent information. Thank you. Just asking why you would purchase bagged wood when you have all those trees though? You could harvest a tree and be good for a long while.
I knew you needed more charcoal and I’m just a beginner, no knowledge at all. I could just feel it. But you gotta learn, can just jump into something thinking ya know everything. Thanks man!
When it comes to blowing on coals. I see people kind of checking out with that comment. But if you’ve ever camped blowing on coals in the fire is pretty common in fire management. As such may I recommend using a “pocket bellows”. It’s a tube that extends like an old radio antenna. You can focus and direct your breath like a bellows and it keeps your face out of the fire. Worth looking into if this is the situation you’re in.
Been getting into charcoal grilling lately. I am definitely interested in offset smoking as my Chargriller can have the Side Fire Box. This helps out when I eventually get one. Thank you.
I know this video is old by YouTube standards, but it is exactly what I was looking for. Being in Canada even an Oklahoma Joe Highland is $700 before taxes😢. I was planning to buy this exact COS in a couple of days just to give offset smoking a try, but was on the fence. After seeing your brisket video and this fire control video I will be buying one in a couple of days to learn on. I will also start trying to figure out how to get, build or buy, a better backyard offset for less than an arm and a leg.
The best way tp get a bbq going is fanning it with the empty beer box
Buy a duster can works better than blowing
How to make your cheap smoker a real champ that works like an expensive one!

I added a bbq guru temp controller to my cheap offset and it helped a lot.
The way I use to start a fire in my chimney, I grab a few paper towels then I wad them up in a ball leaving a wick then I pour cooking oil on the ball saturating pretty good then I light the wicked part that hasn't gotten any oil on it. Works good for me and we always have paper towels and cooking oil sitting around, and a small bottle of cheap cooking oil last me the whole year and I grill at a lot. A ball about 2 inches in diameter soaked in oil will burn for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Just makes me realize I need a much bigger smoker with a larger fire box
should you do wood through the entire cook? i watched a video where you suggested not to?
Thanks brother. I’m about to do my first ever cook on that exact grill. 👍🔥
First off excellent video man. I'm getting ready to purchase this smoker my self. I have one more question for you. Would you recommend wood chips or just stick to wood splits?
You had me until you recommended blowing on the coals..😂
3 minutes in and all we've seen is someone start the coals burning on the grill he will cook on. The we get to watch the guy chop wood. The name of the video is "HOW TO MANAGE THE FIRE". POS video.
As a previous Qstoves+ user, I've recently made the switch to Asmoke and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Asmoke has truly changed the way I grill, offering me more control over the cooking process. The digital controller allows me to set and maintain my desired cooking temperature, providing precise control over the grilling process. Not to mention the flavor! The wood pellets come in different flavors which enhance the taste and aroma of the food being cooked. The portability of the grill is also a game-changer, I can take it on camping trips, picnics, and even road trips! Lastly, I love how it's environmentally friendly, utilizing wood pellets made from recycled materials. It's the perfect combination of convenience, control, and flavor. #Asmoke
I have one on the way and can’t wait. I’ve used a grill as a makeshift smoker for years. Two zone fire etc lol can’t wait to give this guy a go.
