  1. That's some truth, the best Döner Kebab is always the one closest when you need one^^ There are 4-5 Döner shops in my city and normally I always go to the same because it tastes better than the others, but when I was partying and I arrive at my train station at 3am I don't go "oh this is the worst out of the five", no, it's open, it's right in front of me and I need food! and it's always such a satisfying feeling^^

  2. 0:25 Minutes. FYI: I cant see any Lederhosen and if you saw some…be sure theese are tourists. No real munich born citizen will wear lederhosen casual as street clothes. And of all the great and beautyfull biergardens you choose the Hofbräuhaus? Its a well known tourist trap. I hope you come again to munich and visit some real and authentic biergardens. If you need some adresses, lemme know ^^.

  3. Berlin born and raised, but moved to the USA almost 40 years ago. Still miss the good German food. Especialy breads, yes there are more options beside pretzel. The Döner was invented in Berlin bei a Turkish immigrant. Back in the days it was almost always lamb or a beef/lamb combination. And it was almost always served on a seeded "Turkish pide bread" it's a big round bread, cut into quarters, and a pocket was cut into it to fill it.
Berlin is also known for Currywurst, but they should be available in other parts of Germany as well.
If you are adventurous you should eat the Berlin version of the pork knuckle. Eisbein. Same cut of meat. But it is brined, and then boiled. It served with mustard, sauerkraut, and yellow split peas, and of course potatoes.
Up in the northern part of Germany fish is available in greater quantities as well. Lots of smoked and pickled fish. Also Blut und Leberwurst are great.

  4. I'm hoping in the future taste O vision comes from maybe AI so we can all taste in our brains what we see on the screen. At 62 I'll never get to any of those countries but to experience the flavors from around the world would be great. We all try to mimic these recipes and fall short. Might be bad for the restaurants.

  5. Next trip to Germany: Hamburg. Flair, Reeperbahn (Kiez), Musicals (The most successful "Lion King" musical worldwide, worked there for 15 years), the harbour, all types of great food, much more maritime than Munich or Frankfurt, but a really big deal.
Tell me when you are back and you have a local trip advisor for this city. 😉
