Ahh we add a layer of custard (set and chilled) after the fruit (we use mixed frozen mixed berries add icing sugar mix set aside for hour half – 2 depending on how sweet and the amount of juice you want) is down, then cream then a shaving of chocolate or chucks depending on you but not to much in each layer just enough to get a hit of chocolate after every few bites. We also layer the juice from the berries onto the sponge .. don’t know why but mum always done it so do it we must !! But each person has their own way and that looks yummy also !! I love trifle as long as there is enough of each layer to marry together
