  1. Texas bbq is mid, and their sauce is awful, if they even offer it. Which begs the question: who would want a plate of plain smoked meat? Kansas City is where sauce was perfected, and pretty much all of the best bbq sauces out there try to emulate it.

  2. The meat is worth it, the sides are not. If Josh says the food was solid then I can't trust his palate for bbq. There's plenty of amazing bbq in and around the Austin area and Franklin's is top tier.
