Makes awesome I was a meat cutter for 43 years we used to just about give that stuff away years ago along with beef tongue and other items now all the stuff is high as hell!!
I grew up on oxtails when they came in a clear bag with about 15 to 20 of them. Super cheap. Now people have "discovered" it and the people who helped keep it a viable cut can't afford them anymore.
I remember the day when I said as a bachelor "You know what, I'll try to make some oxtails. I'll call my mom to help me". Went to the supermarket and saw them wrapped in the same packaging they put steaks in and I knew it was over then. NOBODY on Earth every went to the store to buy 4 oxtails.
I love oxtails,but they are a very poor bargain. Where I live they are $13-15 per pound. They don't have much meat on them, either.
This was a new way to make. I will give a try

WOW WOW WOW… delicious!! we make it pretty much same way less the celery puree, raisin and pine nuts. I've been eyeing oxtail at costco for quite sometimes. The price is a bit more affordable than my Korean Grocery store however Costco leaves alot of the fat on which the price will likely end up same after i trim all the fat. Thanks for the recipe. your family is so lucky 🙂

Añadir piñones y pasas es algo muy tradicional en la cocina catalana que es el lugar de España donde vivo, Ah! Y saltear la pasta con la misma salsa, una gran idea. I've never eaten oxtails. They seem to be very hard to come by where I live. Why did you puree the celery? I've never seen that technique before. I normally chop them up as part of my mirepoix.
