So all of your old griddles were used when you got them?
Other than significantly larger surface area and fantastic grease trap, what are some of the other advantages of this vs using a 'griddle pan' add on to an existing gas grill ?
That griddle seasoning looks like the seasoning I make – grapeseed oil and beeswax.

it's just tooooo. THIN. I'd insist on something at least a half inch thick so that it actually has some energy stored in it vs dropping by 200° from putting one steak on it.
This thing is $300 less than the Griddle slate. I feel the most important feature is the metal cooking service. Would you happen to know if it's the same as on the Slate? I could care less about the extra shelves and temp knob for an extra $300.
Is this the Slate or 1st Gen?
Would you recommend the seasoning with wax vs just using oil (like avacado)? I just bought a slate and am new to griddling. Thanks!

I just got myself a Blackstone. it has been a lot of fun cooking with it. But you can tell it gets more hot in the middle than the edges. So thats my only complaint.

Congrats! Looks great. I want a griddle, but I have planchaās and cast iron griddle plates for my gas and charcoal grills⦠I just donāt know if I can justify adding another grill⦠š
My question is how many chemicals are in the crap you just spread all
over your cooking surface. Wash the cast iron coat it in avocado oil. Heat it. Repeat repeat repeat. And every time you cook, add fat or oil. Doesnāt have to be avocado oil every time, it just has the highest smoke point. Bacon grease, beef tallow, anything. Doesnāt matter. There are far more natural ways to season cast iron.
