You can cook the pasta directly in the soup. That's how we make it in Italy. Just add enough liquid so that it reaches the desired consistency

I hope you see this. But please look up a very common Egyptian street dish called (Koshari). What dish comes down to is essentially any form of beans/lentils/and pasta put together. With some home made hot sauce and fried shallots, that shit is bomb af. It's the equivalent of a mexican chilli bean dish , expect to put in some hours in the bathroom. You can add cumin to avoid some of that aftermath mess.
