Correction Flax seed contains a lot of healthy fats which the explainer of that got cut out accidentally in this edit and I caught the mistake too late.
How many grams of flaxseed you added ?
I'm pretty sure it's the oil in the flax seed that gives that smooth texutre 🤔 Yes, it's full of fiber, but it's also full of fat
Oh snap. That’s why my smoothies are so chunky. I should’ve just ground them first.
Free pureformen 🤪
Flax seeds also make a great hair gel.
I love flax seeds but my stomach doesn’t. I get super bloated n the stomachache is no bueno.
also makes you poop so clean you dont even need toilet paper
Literally just did this 😊
This dude's videos are like comfort food
Flaxseed is good.
❤❤👍👍
The luxurious texture is like…silky, buttery oily smooth. Almost cream or soap like (not slime though 😅)
Daddy?????!!?!??!!
Flax seeds are great especially with smoothies!
Thanks for the tip! Big love from Detroit 💙
Where is that cute little glass jar from?
I make smoothies every day before work so this is perfect for me
I would add a note or a comment on portion sizes. I know the European Food Safety Authority has cautioned portion control on ground flax as it does contain the same cyanide compounds as apple seeds when consumed ground and raw as milling is like chewing on appleseeds for releasing the cyanide compounds.
Contrary, that seed has a lot of fats and that's why it's creamy. You meed to study more chemistry. 42grams of fatty acids per 100grams 😊
Jesus Christ loves y’all
Ground flax seed is also a great substitute for eggs in baking when the baked goods don’t need to rise much!
NO NO NO Im sorry..my mom would add flaxseed to smoothies, invite me to drink some, whennasked not tell me it was in there and I have a texture thing and I was a really picky eater as a kid and I hated it. When I learned she was adding flaxseed which originally I never experienced it I hated it. I dont drink her smoothies or anyones unless its like a "unhealthy" one like from a restaurant or bottled. Although I am biased..I dunno how it canntaste good to anyone it has no flavor?? And the texture makes you go bleh
If you eat at an Ethiopian place ask them if they have Telba, which is like a flaxseed juice (they roast it first, grind it, mix it with water and add a sweetener like honey). It's incredibly tasty and satisfying and we kept going to the same place to buy bottles of it. The sunflower seed version is called Soif I think
Not if you are a guy! Say goodbye to your hormones!
The grinding is an important step here as without a presoak in water before consumption flaxseeds are not properly broken down during digestion.
Flax seed and chia seeds are my secret weapon for adding fiber to my life. Plus you get omega 3 fatty acids and a good amount of protein. I have a stash at work for my lunches. I just mix either into some water and take it like a shot. Especially helpful when some of my meals may be absent of veggies.
Per tbsp (12g whole)
CHIA: 60 cal
5g fiber
3g protein
2.5g omega 3
Per 2tbsp (13g ground)
FLAX: 70 cal
3g fiber
2g protein
2.43 omega 3
Hi Jon, we don't have a larger food processor or blender at home. Just a very small 100ml processor we use for grinding chili/garlic and ginger/garlic paste, plus a stick blender. What would you recommend for an experienced (Indian) home cook, as I really want a thermomix for the amount of home cooking we do, but there're probably other options out there. Longer form video would be appreciated x
And here I've been adding them unground where they usually just get stuck in my teeth.
Linda Belcher right here
I do that same with chia, really thickens a smoothie and adds all the omegas you need in a day
But that dude in my YouTube adds says he’s going to jump in a pool if I keep doing cardio to lose weight.
But… Fat is our friend 😢
Flaxseed contain a lot ps estrogen based steroid compounds and is toxic for men’s reproductive health and testosterone levels.
I would rather add oatmeal for fiber as oatmeal doesn't contain toxic compounds
