Why not, pray tell, mix that concoction in a bowl and pour it over the bread in the crockpot??

So there I was with an artisanal loaf of sourdough bread I bought at Mariano's Grocery on a 2 for 1 sale and half a bag of organic gala apples that were about to go bad if I didn't use them up soon. I see this video, read your helpful comments, and proceed to make the recipe (with the addition of the chopped up apples) and now I'm just waiting for it to finish. I hope this comes out good because the smell is AMAZING! PEACE

I would have beaten the eggs separately and added together with the milk. Certainly an interesting idea though.
