More than any other team I’ve met, I can honestly say Dayne’s wouldn’t exist without both of them – and that theirs is as much a love story as it is a business story and bbq story. And while they share their powerful story with us Dayne and his team teach me to make homemade balogna from scratch!

  2. Great video and a great story. I never been to Dayne's BBQ but like Dayne said you eat with your eyes and his BBQ I can tell is the real deal. I am already thinking of making a trip to Aledo. The employees in the video seem just like the owners down to earth and passionate about what they do. I loved how this couple kept striving and pushing and flat out wouldn't quit. Dayne and Ashley continue to keep Christ at the forefront of your lives and I hope to visit your establishment soon.

  3. best episode Ive watched yet. I thought the Valentina's episode had me tearing up a bit more than a man should, then I watched this episode and anyway…. great story. food looks amazing. cant wait to hit Aledo up. much love from Waco, Texas.

  4. What an amazing group of people and even more amazing stories.
I'd heard of Dayne from the Meat Church channel and he seemed like a genuinely good person.
This video confirms that and it's great to see that he's got Ashley at his side.
Two great people, the world needs more like them!

  5. Best bbq I’ve ever had and Dayne and Ashley are even better humans! Took a class with Dayne and talked with him afterwards and he told me the same thing he was told “ just do it man , don’t let anyone stop you “

  6. I used to eat a lot of Bologna sandwiches as a kid with a fried egg but need to pack the old 5th wheel up and head to Texas to try one of these bologna sandwiches. Making a business run is so much hard work that the average person has no clue what owners go through to make it work. So many families are destroyed by the work it takes to make a business profitable. So nice to hear about a couple who stayed together and made it work along with a family. As an aside, been working on creating a hot mustard sauce for my sandwiches and nuggets.

  7. Man usually I don't care about the story of the people.. I'm just here for the food, the recipes.. but these two are a beautiful couple with a great team and it's an excellent story to see how they have all achieved what they have

  8. Seriously, I have no idea how you do it! Time and again you just raise your own bar (bq). 😂 An absolutely incredible story of hardship, resilience, and belief in eachother. It showcases how commitment, love, and God can see you through amything life throws at you. You bring out the story behind the story in a way that is truly unmatched anywhere else. And great food as well. I am not a fan of bologna, mine does not have a first or last name as I do not eat it, but I would make an exception here. Thank you so much! God bless them, and you as well for what you do!

  9. Best story yet Al. My wife and I visited Dayne's a few years ago at their old spot. Dayne's BBQ was the best we had while in TX. I believe all bbq restaurants can have off days, but the quality wasn't even close when compared to other spots we ate at to include two other spots on the Top 50 list. I signed up for a brisket class at Dayne's and it was canceled due to bad weather + covid. I was flying in from Philly to take the class. Dayne personally took time out of his time to talk to me for over 2 hours on the phone about everything BBQ. Such a humble dude and a wealth of BBQ knowledge that he was willing to share. I nerd out on everything BBQ, so it was a great experience for me to learn from him. I wish Dayne and his family nothing but the best and we'll definitely be back. Great work Al!

  10. Great video Al. Really enjoyed watching Dayne’s story. I’ve eaten at Dayne’s several times and that bologna is really good. The OG burger is also very good as are all the other proteins. I haven’t tried any of the breakfast items yet but I’m sure they are very good as well

  11. I’ve eaten at Dayne’s a few times and it never disappoints. My personal favorites are the OG Burger and the Bologna Melt but everything they serve is great. A few years ago Dayne was on the Meat Church YouTube channel showing how to make his Bacon Brisket. I followed Dayne’s instructions and it’s now one of my favorite things to smoke.

  12. I’ve been sitting on these thoughts for a few days now. This has to be your best yet Al (and team)

The opening shots of Mia and crew creating beautiful trays of clearly quality food, and how the different components come together including that incredible looking baloney (which I’ve never had before, of any quality)

Then the backstory of a couple – indeed a power couple. Many people could learn a thing or three from this. This is not just your normal rise to a great location to enjoy yummy food, it’s a love story of trust, of faith, of belief in each other, of going that extra mile more than just once and showing your life partner I believe in you, often and from the heart.

The fact that the food looks gorgeous is an added bonus to an incredible true tale that continues to write new chapters

I thought I trusted my wife with things in running what we built to be a pretty successful business (and recently sold so she could finally attempt to retire), but these two are next level. Thank you Al and team. And of course thanks to Dayne, Ashley, Alex, Mia and everyone else there
