  1. You’re really good at this, but your ads are so big they cover half the screen. It was frustrating not being able to see what you were doing because of the size of your ad. And there was no way to click it away.

  2. Whole buttermilk is always in my fridge because I make pancakes and biscuits every week. Expiration date on that milk? Never a problem. Love you Lan and all of your tips and tricks!

  3. Someone in the comments mentioned laban, a cultured drink in their country. That gave me an idea — kefir is fairly widely available, also a cultured drink of yoghurt and milk. I wonder if a berry flavor might make for an interesting pancake?

  4. Thank you. Great timing — all the students in our house have been making pancakes. Some of the pancakes are yummy, some are okay. I've copied your recipes and shared this video with them. It's kinda funny how everyone is making many different versions of pancakes, and I'm sure your advice will be very helpful. Thank You. I am a fan of all you share at ATK. Cheers from Colorado

  5. A little bit of sugar, proceeds dumping a cup of sugar in.

I use, at most, one tablespoon of sugar. Can add sugary toppings later, such as syrup or honey.

I also use a (silicone) spatula for combining flour and liquid batter mixtures, never a whisk unless the batter is very thin.

  6. Lan, I made pancakes yesterday using a package sourdough pancake mix and then made a batch following your instructions. You were on the money; they were the best pancakes I've ever made. Thank you.

  7. Amazing tip for better Buttermilk alternative! I love all the detail, Lan Lam – like "imagine ur playing the slapping game" … such a great visual reference! Keeping this recipe in a Playlist to watch again! Thanks ever so much! 🙋‍♀️🦋💙🌻💙

  8. "Any larger than that and you can only fit two pancakes in the pan"
I wouldn't let how many I can fit in a pan dictate the size of the individual pancakes. More likely, she's making them smaller in diameter because it makes the finished pancakes LOOK thicker for the camera to emphasize the topic of the video title.
I do agree with the thicker batter making for a thicker finished product, and thanks for pointing out the difference between buttermilk and clabberred milk. I get so annoyed at perky Youtubers and their "How to make buttermilk!" segments but it's just adding acid to make clabber.

  9. Love Lan! Can you use whole wheat flour for the protein pancakes? I have gestational diabetes and pancakes have been something I make for my kids but couldn't easily partake for the past 8 months. I'm so excited to try the high protein ones today!
