Ekhm. Acktually. Panko isnt baked. It's electrocuted.
And if you have to eat gluten free?
Do these breadings work as well on fish?
The best way is to grind panko fine. It gets a super consistent browning and a great crunch. Best of both worlds.
How do you not mention that Panko is cooked by electrocuting the bread? that's so cool!
Every other bread crumb is poisonous, Panko is toasted.
You can pulse Panko in a food processor also to get an in-between of Panko and Western breadcrumbs
It's shake and bake. And I helped!
fun fact: panko is electrocuted.
I liked panko until too many Japanese channels were like just use 🍞
I like mixing panko and bread crumbs for my cutlets. I find panko alone to not hold seasoning, herbed bread crumb mixed in give good flavor and the panko give great crunch.
You can also rehydrate Panko for "fresh" bread crumbs
I make my own breadcrumbs, buying them is the biggest waste of money ever,
Crispy breaded fried or baked chicken breast is my absolute favorite food… yummy-yum-yum-yum 😋
The key difference is Panko is made using an electric current. Not just dried bread and ground up.
