  1. Holy crap! At 2:13 in, he's talking about *me!* Only, it isn't, "'Erné Webber," it's pronounced "Hurn." But whatever! I'm stoked! That was my question and post!

P.S. I have made many things with my Just Egg, so far, and it is amazing. The best things have been to microwave it, rather than trying to fry it, as it sucks up oil. I've made Chao cheese, Just Egg and LightLife Smart Bacon sandwiches, with lettuce, vine ripe Grainger County, TN, tomatoes, and Hellmann's Vegan mayo, but for French Toast, I haven't done that yet. I've used soy milk for this in the past, and it was good, but I'm waiting to try this product for some time I'm really wanting a treat. I have real maple syrup in the fridge, and Myoko's cultured Vegan butter. I just need the best bread. I make my own sourdough, with a rainwater culture from two years ago. Time to get busy!

  2. In short, multi-grain and whole grain breads are not used as often for French toast because the custard is defeated as a custard in a grainy matrix. Grainy breads have their place, to be sure, but a custard is a smooth and creamy thing, which is the appeal for many for French toast.

  3. Day-old cinnamon bagels sound like a good wintery treat to me now. And I am wondering why there aren't pannetone-style bagels.

Darker bread might go well with chocolate French toast or even a splash of darker beer…:) And now I am thinking about savoury Flammkuchen French toast and Galette French Toast…Too many ideas! 😄🙈

  4. Awesome! I never at sugar to the mixture, I thimk it's overrated. Although, I have infused milk with Chai spices, plus adding some of them dry, turns out great! In my experience whole grain bread makes a weird texture, that's all. Although, I've tried Bimbo bread with whole flaxseed grains, and it turns peculiarly good!
