I LOVE that beautiful cake stand!!! Does anyone know where she got it? 😊
Great until 1:16, saliva speech.
I am a great cook. But watching this video proves to me why I don't bake. It gave me anxiety watching her be so anxious about every cornmeal granual and grain of salt. Heck, I go improv so often my family will ask what I've made and I'll just say "stuff". Hats off to you! #idontneednostinkinrecipe
Really, we're using ounces? Grams is the preferred unit of measure in baking. Even King Arthur Flour took the ounce option off their recipes. According to King Arthur nobody uses ounces in baking so you are contradicting them. Last time I mentioned the King Arthur we're still people on TV weighing a dry ingredients in ounces they laughed and said you're not supposed to do that anymore.
What a neat cake. I think this would be a great summer time cake. Maybe try a peach-bay compote version too
Could I use fresh apricots and less water?
The cake she filled and frosted was not the same cake for the final shot. Filling was done differently. I would put money on it! As someone in foodservice, I have been taught to make each item the same over and over. Slight variation here.
Big fan of Chef John???….. she articulates sorta like him lol
This looks so great I have to try it thank you for the video
Oh god. A ganglion.
This was beautifully shot and edited!! Really enjoyed it!
Boring. Too much chit chat. Sorry. Should have been a five min vid…
Awesome video! I hope this becomes a regular series. Also the cook could be a book narrator. Very articulate and emotive speaking!
Really enjoyed the video. Appreciated the "non-chef" approach. Love ATK but it's nice to hear from a "real" person once in a while. Magda has a very nice way about doing things skillfully (yes, Magda, you have some good skills) yet with humility, pointing out where things weren't smooth. Makes for a very approachable, inspiring video.
Horrible. I hope ATK won't have this idiot back.
YES!!! Sweet and savory!! YUM
1 whole egg & 1 egg yolk – ok got it
Whaaaat?
I’d add the vanilla to the food processor instead.
Loving Magda!
Since apricots are used, I think that Grand Marnier would make an excellent substitute for vanilla.
Well you came very close to making lithuanian food.
Lovely cake…looks so delicious.
Can I use corn flour in place of the corn meal?
😊Thanks!🙌🏾
Yum. Love apricot!
Has anyone tried this with gluten free flour? Like bobs redmill 1 for 1
Recipe looks great. The presenter seemed friendly and allowed the recipe to shine without overpowering it. I think ATK hit the right tone for me compared to other channels which can be a little too charismatic and personality focused.
Table salt? Morton's Kosher salt? Diamond Crystal?
This was wonderful. Great camera angles, good pacing and narration, good lighting. I like the ambient sounds though in a couple places, like the nut chopping, they were a bit overpowering.
c'mon!! …. why does everybody talk like chef john now?
This cake looks yummy.
Thank you for bringing us an everyday chief, who isn’t afraid to make an error..or might not get things perfect.. 👍
Great job, very inspiring and light hearted thank you from B.C 🇨🇦✌😎❤🙏
For exact measures, why not use grams?
Yum! My kind of cake!! Thank you and, well done!
Best part is the initial honesty. I love that she said, “I’m a videographer” followed by a shot of thousands in equipment in what’s obviously not her kitchen, instead of pretending to be a typical home cook. Creating a superior food video like this takes talent, space and a bunch of money. Way to show the behind the scenes truth, even if it’s for a split second.
I'm wholly unfamiliar with cornmeal cake. But, I love the blend of flavors … with a not-too-sweet finish.
If this is your audition, tell ATK that I think you aced it!
Okay, female Babish. LOL
Looks and sounds wonderful! And I thoroughly enjoyed your playful narrative. I’ll be giving this a try, for sure!
YUMMMMM!!!!!
