Yep,I bring my tea to a rolling boil and immediately take the pot off the burner and place a saucer on top and steep for four minutes then I pour it into a partially filled up pitcher with ice and squeeze the tea bags dry then fill the pitcher the rest of the way with water and stir and let it sit for a few minutes. That's the perfect steep with no bitterness
I wish there were some decent tea that were not crazy expensive. The only ones I can afford are rusty black and rough green, which smell to some plant.
Dead Leaves in water……. I was never impressed by tea
Wow, what an eye opener this was. You are amazing. I just discovered your site and haven't even beyond to put a dent in watching all your videos. At the rate I am going I should earn a certificate for something with so much knowledge you share. I do have a question for you Dan about what happens to the tea process when sugar is added? I don't use sugar but everyone else in my family does😥 Is there a right time to add the sugar? Thanks a bunch 👍
0::27 Royal-teas? BOOOOOO! 😀
There are Brits the world over that don’t like you, Dan. I don’t personally know any that are ok with iced tea!!! Lol
So frustrating when an ATK video recommends a recipe link below that you can't access unless you have a membership! This is exactly why I cancelled my membership with Cooks. You had to buy into higher and higher memberships to get a recommended recipe. Always jerking you around with the carrot method. Got very fed up. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Fun Fact: the word for tea around the world is either derived from te or cha, depending on whether the country got it via a sea route (te) or land route (cha) from China.
T
I think the term 'fun fact' comes from a long-running Wrigley's gum advertisement from the 1960s. In the Sunday comics there would be an advertisement inserted among the comic strips. The Wrigley's ads were entitled "Fun Facts To Know And Tell." As a teenager I can remember my friends and me saying 'fun facts to know and tell' in the same way someone might say 'fun fact' today.
I wish I liked tea. It smells good, but it just tastes like hay or is just flavorless.
This was a fantastic episode! I learned a bunch. Thank you Dan!
Tea means peace to me My family shared a pot every evening and it makes everything ok 😊
I call myself a tea-aholic I wake up thinking "hot or iced?" My friends and family tease me about it My reformed alcoholic girlfriend invited me on her boat with "Don't worry, there's tea on the boat!" My friends give me tea, teapots, tea eggs and strainers, etc I buy my tea from Indian grocers Darjeeling is my favorite
Clear and concises
Awesome
Loved this. Absolutely loved it. I've had tea in a few countries. Gongfucha is my favorite thing ever. My office has more tea and tea sets that I'd like to admit. It's my jam and I try to share it.
But you summarized in a short video some of the main, awesome tips. You didn't try to get pretentious with it, or distract people with a rabbit hole from each feature (as fun as going into raw / ripe puerh; benefits of the gongdaobei; tea drunk, etc would be).
And you kept the enthusiasm to show people how refreshing and easy it is!
Thank you! Hope you do more on tea sometime!
What happens if you use the same tea, but just use a cold steep?
Love tea, all kinds, can’t drink coffee anymore . Thanks for this episode!
Dan, it is so good to see you! I have always loved you on ATK. Now I can learn from you here. Thanks!😍
I do not like green tea. It has this stomach-turning bitterness. But, my daughter makes a green iced tea with mint and stevia that is the most delightful thing ever.
Tea is fascinating and delicious. I'm also an Oolong kind of guy💗
What I want to know is how to disprove that tea is directly linked to kidney stones and their formation when multiple cultures have been drinking tea for literally millennia yet you never hear about them constantly dealing with kidney stones. Because literally every medical person to whom I have spoken says that the tannins in tea are what cause the formation of kidney stones.
An episode about matcha would be cool!
Fun fact: Tea is the most consumed beverage in the world, because water, by definition, is not a beverage!
Hada kick Coca-Cola to curb to save my diabetic feet/legs. Cant drink coffe(gastro-intestinal health problems).Went to tea as commonly available option. If tea turns me into ppl like this guy, WTH are my options?? (Already limit milk, rem gastro?) Wine? Limit. Beer? Limit. Liquor? Limit. So…Water? Fine for a while. Until I started talking like this guy. Coconut milk? Allergic. Almond milk? (see water). Camel milk?( u gotta b kiddin). Do they still make Kool-Aid?( Not the Jim Jones flavor).
Southerners, of which I’m one of, are looking at this iced tea he made and waiting on sugar to be added and are sorely let down! 😂
I too love tea. Thank you for the info.
Yes. More tea videos please.
Dan, you are the sexiest guy out there!!!
