  1. HELP! ๐Ÿ†˜ First time trying this recipe out today and I made the mistake of adding the same amount of apple cider vinegar in this recipe which turns out is WAAAYYY TOO MUCH for us. Is there a way to tone down that strong acidity without having to add more sugar?

  2. Hawaiian Mac Salad
    4 qts Boiling water
    1 Tablespoons Salt
    1 Pound Elbow Macaroni
    Boil for 15 minutes

    Dressing
    2 cups whole Milk
    2 cups mayonnaise
    1 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
    2 teaspoons Black Pepper
    1/2 teaspoons Salt
    Mix with Whisk till combined
    Reserve 1-cup dressing

    Test pasta
    Drain

1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar to the hot macaroni noodles so it gets soaked up and not curdle milk
    Stir it in

    While it cools

    4 stalk green onions-thinly sliced
    1 grated carrot
    1- celery rib thinly chopped

Pasta cooled – Add dressing and vegetables. Want it cool enough so the vegetables do not cook

    Mix until fully incorporated

    Refrigerator 1-hour
(It make up to two days early, then add the one reserved cup of dressing before serving.)

  3. Everyone in the comments complaining about the vinegar. Once it's absorbed into the pasta, and the dressing is added, the vinegar becomes a very much welcomed background note that ties in tot he light sweetness added by the brown sugar, and enhances the flavor of the vegetables. If you have a hard time letting it sit for a whole day, and then adding the reserve dressing, and enjoying an amazing recipe, then that's your fault fool!

  4. Just finished making this mac salad for maybe the 6th time? Mostly, I make it just like this as a side but sometimes I'll add hard cooked eggs. Diced walla walla sweet onions are good, too, if you have no scallions or just like onions.
Do not be afraid of adding all of the apple cider vinegar and the brown sugar – once it sets and cools down you will be glad you did.

  5. This is really good! Iโ€™ve made it twice. Iโ€™m afraid of cooking the macaroni for 15 minutes though so I didnโ€™t cook it that long. Has anyone else cooked it that long with good results?
