  2. The ugly truth about the Lavatools Javelin PRO Duo: Nice thermometer pen while it lasts. If it fails during their warranty period, you're out of luck. You have to submit an on-line warranty claim to try and prove why your thermometer should be covered under warranty. Even failure from normal wear and tear is not covered! It doesn't matter because they will not reply to your request. If you send an email to their customer service, they will not reply! They have no intentions of ever honoring their "warranty". This company (Lavatools) is owned by a Chinese company in Hong Kong. They tout "Designed in the U.S. made in China". The thermometer is overpriced and lacks the features of less-expensive thermometer pens with actual warranties (Inkbird 1ht-1s).

  10. Your review fails to address what is, for me, a major factor in purchasing a battery-powered kitchen tool. I want to know what kind of battery does the tool use and how easy is it to access the battery compartment when changing the battery. I much prefer a product that uses a common battery like a standard AA or AAA battery. Those are cheaper, easy to find, and are also used in other tools around the house, like TV controllers. You may want to include that info in future reviews.

  13. My Thermapen is awesome but certainly expensive. I also have a Lavatools Javelin that, from comparisons I made, works just as well and it was less than half the cost. Thermapen's reputation speaks for itself, so I'm recommending the Lavatool Javelin for those on a budget.

  18. The most expensive thermometer you’re ever going to buy is the cheap one you’re going to end up throwing out and have to rebuy because it cheap garbage in the first place.

    I have owned a Thermapen from thermoworks. It’s the one alton brown uses. And it’s lasted me years. Worth every penny. Word of warning on the thermoworks not to buy it on Amazon or eBay there’s a warning on their website of fake sellers selling this item at extremely high prices, like that guy that sells the first generation iPad for $400.

  26. This is starting to become common knowledge, but Thermapen is worth all $100. The Thermapop also performs really well considering the $30 price tag you can find on one. Thermoworks is a very good company that makes really well made products. You will not find another digital thermometer that can keep up with either of these products in a retail store at ANY price point.

  30. First it's actually $34 plus $4 shipping within US making it $38 which is over your price range. It was $28 if you buy 5 which normal people won't do plus shipping is higher. Second it's only available from the makers own website can't get it on Amazon, Walmart, Jet, etc … Can't you review items that can actually be early purchased from common website marketplaces? Also you have to include shipping in your prices used for limiting selections and state them in th video. Try to use online marketplaces that offer at least free standahipping options.

    So many times I go to look to buy the recommended option to find it's only available from a single source and it's not a common or preferred source for most people.
