Pit Boss Vs Traeger Pellet Grill | Which One Should You Buy

Pit Boss Vs Traeger Pellet Grill Which One Should You Buy? If you have followed me for a while you know I am not dedicated to any particular brand when if comes to my bbq equipment. I just want the best pit I can buy for my hard earned dollars! Pit Boss has truly stepped up their game with the new Pro Series models! I honestly feel that the Pit Boss 1150 would also beat the Traeger 780. The best thing about this stripped down Traeger model is the controller. Trager is a great company but I guess it is true you are just paying for a name. I hope you all enjoyed this fun little comparison video on Pit Boss Vs Traeger, thanks for watching!

  1. I had a rec tec and it was good enough for me other than the small size should have bought the larger pit. upgraded to the large Lone Star Grillz pellet grill and it produces a smoke level that rivals the stick burners and it is large enough to hold a large turkey and ham for Thanksgiving with room to spare.

  2. I had a pit boss didn't even get to use it for more than a week tip shortening out the circuit boards to the point where pit Boss couldn't even send me anymore ended up getting my money back pit boss is the biggest piece of junk on the market yeah you might spend an extra $100 for the traeger but you'd better off with it I've had it now for a year and a half and it's never even let me down once pit boss's junk

  3. Love my Pitt boss Austin XL. Smoked 2 boston butts at 200° for about 10 hours. Turned out perfect. Everyone LOVED it. I have done chicken, steaks, kabobs…best food ever!!!!!!! Wouldn't trade it for anything. Well, maybe another Pitt Boss…

  4. been using the table top pit boss for a while now, love the convenience and practicality. Pired with a an Anker power system supplemented with a 150w solar rig i was able to cook the entire summer of 2022 with it almost exclusively outside of boiling water on a rocket stove. Pit Boss is the BOSS!

  5. The PB 1600CS (compaction series) has a larger area between the lower and middle grate but only 2 probe ports not 4 like the Pro. Plus it costs $200-300 less than the Pro.
I have a 6 year old PB 830 that the controller died on. When I ordered a replacement it was an up graded model and it would not work on my grill. After going around and around with PB non customer service I rolled it into the shed and am going to go get a PB1600CS. Wish me luck 🤞

  6. well pit-boss Lerado 1000 it is then, cheaper than the Traeger, more room, regular grates, 25 pound hopper, searing plate and 2 racks with plenty of space plus easy to clean burn pot, 4 shelves, 2 meat probes, Bluetooth for phone app. did i mention its only $489?

  7. Very well done video. I bought the Traeger Pro 575 about 6 months ago and love it. Did a 18 hour low & slow cook on a 17.5 lb brisket about a month ago and it came out perfect! First time I’ve ever hit a home run with a brisket, lol. The main thing I like about the PB is the sear feature, but a cast iron skillet does the job equally well when I need to sear something on the Traeger. All in all I think both brands get the job done, it just depends on what features you like and need. Again, great video, thanks for posting! 👍

  8. I am thinking of buying gen 3 Pitboss Pro series 1150 from Lowes Canada…I have historically owned Traegers and currently have Ironwood 650. Looking to add another grill and PB seems better value for money. Only concern is temp difference between left and right. Should I be concerned?

  9. I purchased a small PB600 2 years ago for $149…couldn't pass up the deal, cook on it many times a week with ZERO issues! Wish it had a fire pot clean out from the bottom though, regardless good stuff from both companies.

  10. Bought the Oklahoma Joe Rider several years ago and I love it. Huge cooking area with two half racks and a grill/sear area above the fire pot. Also bought the griddle which is great for veggies and fajitas. I like your review very in depth. Stay Smokey my friends.
