  1. When I was in college, we’d get a bunch of people together, roll a keg into Salt Lick, and get the all-you-can eat. It’s pretty mediocre for TX BBQ, but that was always a fun experience.

  2. "it's better than everywhere in Kentucky…"

Wow…!! I suspect you grew up in the Golden Triangle area (Lexington-Louisville-Cincy). Many from there don't realize there's more to the state than within that zone. Much better you say "everywhere I'VE BEEN in Kentucky". 😀

  3. Yooo. do you have any good suggestions for smoking ribs on a "normal" grill? I have this old school beer barrel, really thick metal, cut in half length wise. We've had a bunch of these in my family that my grandpa mad and my dad usually stacks a layer of coals along to front edge then cuts the racks in half and stacks them on the other edge and rotates the stack every one in a while. I was just curious if you had any tips/

  4. Interesting review. Chicago sausage… wow I’m guessing the TX boys are cringing. NY deli… wow! These guys are rolling over in their graves. It’s interesting a review indeed! Trying to save the review at the end.

  5. Jeremy do you have a video about cross flow vs reverse flow? I am about to buy 3 500 gallon tanks. I've learned a lot from Fat Stacks. I've made 55 gallon smoker/grills and I want to graduate. I don't want to sell them but I'd love to sell my BBQ. If you have a link to pro's and cons to cross and reverse flow I'd love to see it. I may have already seen yours but it was years ago. I may have just been doing research but now I am ready to pull the trigger.

  6. You experience lines up with mine… I was disappointed in their overall quality and flavor, but I am picky on my bbq, I prefer my own. If I do grab bbq out, it is typically at Kreuz market, their smoked sausage is amazing.

  7. Like most BBQ places, Salt Lick is very inconsistent. I've had it be a 10/10 and had it be a 5/10. The only thing that is consistent is the sausage being consistently bad. It is just a bad recipe overall. The sauce, sides, atmosphere, and brisket keeps me coming back every summer.
