Gray smoke is bad
Had trouble getting these to ignite in my Memphis grill?? I am thinking about trying to ignite it outside of the grill and then set this in the grill after already lit. Any tips on how to light it up outside of the grill safely??
Wow they both really pump out the smoke Tom! Bear Mountain pellets are my favorite next to Lumberjack but I believe lumberjack was bought out by Bear Mountain. I think the blend of that packet is cherry, oak and maple. The steak chunks looked good. Thanks for sharing Tom!
I make my own smoke packet quite often but I use real wood chips. Takes about 10 to 15 minutes before smoke but this works great for me. Only need smoke for about 15 minutes anyway. If I need longer smoke I use my Smoke tube and get several hours out of it. Thanks Tom.
Great review, Tom, this pouches really put out some smoke!!!! Impressed!!!! They put out more than the smoke tubes I believe!
If you watch "Americas Test kitchen" on PBS they have been making foil pouch chip smokers like these for years.
I almost purchased this on Friday to try out, glad I didn't. 😁
I used to make these for my gas grill a few years back but quit using them. The smoke was a little on the bitter side and thought I was doing something wrong. After watching, the smoke looked like the ones you used, guessing it was not the good smoke we crave and was the bad smoke we dread. Good review Tom, Thanks!
Great job Tom , I make my own pouches and smoker boxes . Those videos have gone viral Way cheaper as they don’t sell them in Aus and awesome fir the Weber baby q 👍👍
Tom I think that is a good method for laying a pouch on top of the fire pot protector in a pellet grill.
So, this is how they let us know they've elected a new Pope.
Yeah I agree.. the smoke should be thin and blue. Otherwise it will give the meat a bitter or acidic taste…I started out just wanting billows of smoke and didn't think I was doing it right if I didn't achieve that..boy was I wrong and have since learned. I have a pit barrel, traeger, a masterbuilt vertical and an off set. Definitely had to learn but it's what i love to do..you put out great videos my guy.. always seems to be something new ever time I hop on YouTube
What temp were you at? Also the smoke didn’t look like clean smoke huh?
I've made my own smoke pouches like you did. Much cheaper also. Good video.
