  1. The huge problem with better than bouillon is that it is almost impossible to reopen the jar after the first use without a large pair of pliers! I always take care to make sure that the rim of the jar and the lid are both clean before putting the lid back on, but on multiple jars I have had the problem of not being able to reopen them without the pliers.

  2. I bought a jar of BTB at a Costco we visited in CA on our 30th Anniversary trip 15 years ago! ( married 45 years this year) I loved it! It was organic and low sodium, it took a few years until our Costco here in Washington started selling it! Now available at every Costco here. ❤️

  3. It seems ok, I've only tried it once, this past Thanksgiving. I used their turkey base but it was much saltier than I/we were used to. It would be nice if they had a less sodium version of their line up. I have seen a lower sodium version of their roast chicken base but, while I did purchase it, I haven't tried it yet. I am leery of trying any others that don't say low sodium.

  4. My dad survived a heart pre-pandemic, and we had to shift a lot of our ingredients to adjust to the low-sodium, low-fat diet. We had to say goodbye to the store-bought bouillon cubes in our country, but since then BTB has been a lifesaver for us in managing our diet.

  5. I love that stuff! I make homemade broth often. Sometimes instead of adding salt to my homemade I will add a touch of BTB & use it. & taste for salt to my liking. I have chicken 🐔 & beef 🥩 in my freezer. It last forever in there, it doesn’t get hard still spoonable 🥄. Good stuff! 😋

  6. This has to be the WORST advice I've seen on the AmTK channel. I bought some Better Than Bullion based on the advise here and used it to supplement the stock I made from my turkey carcass for gravy. I reduced down the stock about 50% and it turned very dark and was salty. There were this bits of stuff floating in it that I skimmed off. If I'd just used boxed stock I don't think this would have happened because that stuff is low sodium compared to BTB.

I supposed if you're using it to suppliment a sauce it's fine, but if you reduce it down, it's not so good. Hannah how could you be so wrong about this?

  7. Be aware: BtB has several similar but different options, and IMO, the one they sell at Costco is the best. Not only is it organic, but it's lower sodium (about 1/2 as much as regular BtB or broth), so you can add it to foods without having to remove all other sources of salt. It's also much cheaper than the grocery store. Be aware that they also sell a "reduced sodium" option in grocery stores that has about 75% of the sodium of regular.
