This video will show you how to cook a Visayan meryenda dish known as Binignit. This is almost the same as ginataang halo-halo, except that the latter uses glutinous rice balls or bilo-bilo.
Other regions in the Philippines also have versions of this dish. These are, but not limited to the following: Sampelot in Pampanga, dinuldog, ginatan, and alphalor.

Here are the ingredients for this recipe:
2 medium sweet potato, cubed
2 medium purple yam, cubed
2 pieces saba banana, cubed
1 cup Muscovado sugar
4 cups coconunut milk
1 ½ to 2 cups water
1 ½ cups sliced ripe jackfruit
2 medium gabi, cubed
1 ¼ cup tapioca pearls
2 tablespoons glutinous rice flour

I'm from Cebu and we make Binignit mostly during Lenten Season. We usually use fresh coconut milk with it and we don't add water. It's my first time to see a binignit with water. I wonder how it tastes like.

"sindol" po ang tawag namin dyan dto sa zamboanga. yung flour po bale nilalagay sya sa salaan tapos diresto sa lutuan para mgkaroon ng macaroni-like texture sa sindol. masarap po talaga yan..thank you for sharing. definitely will try this soon.
