  1. I noticed when the chicken thighs were placed directly over the briquettes for the finish that the chicken did not burn. Did the chicken not burn because there was some distance between the chicken and charcoal? I would like to sear my chicken leg quarters without burning them.

  5. This maybe a stupid question, but will the food still taste 'bbq' when you cook with indirect heat? I got this Weber for my birthday and I really want to get good at bbq'ing..with my old bbq I just used to throw stuff on the grill and hope it didn't burn 😂
