Take out the heat defuser in the pit boss, it's trash and doesn't help. I've had even temps in my 1600 for 3 years after taking it out.

Traeger isn’t bad but I’m a pit boss fan. If Traeger was cheaper maybe I’d get one. I have a Traeger at work and it has way too many bells and whistles
Can anyone advice me if I should get the pitboss elite 1600 for $1399 or the Traeger Ironwood XL for 1999, I'm new to pellete grilling, I normally just use propane or charcoal, suggestion?
Every time you talk about that XL sounds like you dont really like it for the $$ that it cost. I hope that Traeger sent you that smoker and it didnt came out of your pocket. That's a lot of money for that pit. By the look of it LSG pit is less money and a much better smoker.

Great review! I think I would have to go with the pit boss since it has a lower price tag and no broken control – The ribs look fantastic off of both for sure – maybe because of the skill of the cook 😊. I'd be happy to eat either one 😋

Traeger easily wins.
Honestly should have used the smoke mode for the Pit Boss it's not about being fair, it's about cooking the best ribs you can on both of them. Same temp is all that needs to be consistent being the two.

Just bought the PB850 Pro from lowes and did my first cook last weekend and the ribs turned out impeccable. I couldn’t be happier with this pit! I couldn’t justify the higher price tag that Traeger has
Would love to see a video on the Pitt Boss Pros, Both your Elite and the Older model with the Mods, for the Sensor and the Heat Defector, its was a game changer for my Pro 1600, Way more even heat and the PID seems to predict the pit better. Have you seen theses mods ?
I smoked a rack of baby backs on my Traeger and smoked a rack on a stick burner. I found that the Traeger did a better job.
