Kent, I agree with a comment from another viewer, that you bring joy to so many of us dealing with today's problems. I know that when I watch your channel that my mood will be brightened, I'll learn something new and I'll have a new recipe to try. Thanks for your positivity, faith, humor and patriotism. You are the quintessential American man of the West. God Bless you and your family always, in all ways. 🙏
Looks super duper delic.!! I think it go well with some mashed potatoes as well and a salad possibly : )). I love the historic background. You should do a favorite dish of all the U.S. presidents or deserts. If not mistaken Dolly Madison invented the Boston Cream pie for instance.
French chicken stew
margerine wasn't invented till 1869. Lincoln never ate any. Maybe you're thinking bear grease.
He licked the seasoning off the glove with which he had just touched the raw chicken. Do not do this at home, kids.
Silly cow you dont taste uncooked spices they have to have the heat to release the oils out,in order to release the flavours
Looks AMAZING!
Imagine a video with Kent Rollins, Townsends and Max Miller (tasting history). That would be the most epic video of all time.
Thank you for the recipe. I do want to clarify… Lincoln wasn't trying to get the north and the south to 'get along'… The United States was at war with anti-American separatist savages who wanted to keep trafficking humans.
Powdered spices lose their oils very quickly. They are tasteless after a while. That is why it’s always better to freshly grind if you can
Why did you skip the browning step? And why skinless and boneless? The skin, properly browned adds a lot of flavor and texture. The bones add flavor and unctuousness to the gravy.
I love history food videos. I find it amazing how recipes have come and gone like fashion. Like in 150 years they will be talking about the popeyes chicken sandwich.
I have wondered what this was since I was a little kid, and my Dad would play an Elvis 8 track that had his version of Old MacDonald. There's a reference to chicken fricassee in that song, and nobody in my family knew how to make it.
Looks delicious but it looked like you used way too much mace/clove mixture. Most recipes call for a tiny 1/8 teaspoon.
I like the video once because the food just looked good. But then when he did that little dance I tried to like the video again with no luck. Thanks for making such a good video
That'd be good with white rice too. Yummy.
I would have guessed that Abe was more of a rabbit man.
Looks fabulous Kent. I always drop dumplings into my fricassee. Enough flour will come off the dumplings to thicken the gravy all on it's own.
Margarine ?? Not butter? Hmmm
Talking about Lincoln hugs, he was supposedly an amazing wrestler and strong enough to pick up a grown man over his head. So ending the video like that Kent hopefully has good ole Abe smiling down on you.
It's hard to imagine a time before cylinders, records and radio.
Coolest guy ever
Absolutely wonderful as always. Thank you Sir!!
Fricassee is to BROWN in butter then stew. No browning occurred. This is milk braised chicken.
Nice prayer.
