Today in the test kitchen, Esther is testing the new Pat LaFreida/Otto Wilde grill. Is this grill the best way to cook steak outside of a restaurant?

I was seriously considering buying this but after watching your review I have changed my mind and will stick with my gas grill and carbon steel griddle. The only real way to achieve these temperatures is to buy a salamander like they use in the steak houses and even a smaller one costs thousands of dollars. Will live with what I have until I win the lottery. Very well presented and informative review and will subscribe to this channel
dont actually put any seasoning on the steak before. the 1500F will burn anything away and it'll taste bad
Get the Otto Wilde Lite. Save a ton of money and also wait for sales. Just got one for $570 out the door.
bought something very similar for $160, works great !
I was excited to get one of these but all the videos it seems to sear uneven. Yours is the only one that doesn't ignore the uneven sear coverage. Good review.
🤦♂️
She push the meat against the grill 😂😂😂😂
The idea is great. That thing just isn't big enough. Steakhouses have large broilers with temperature zones and the steak would never be that close to the heat source.
Will not be purchasing thanks to this video. If I rcvd these results. I would have been unhappy so pass for me.
I want my 5min of viewing this back
Debating between this and a smoker?
Is this thing only for steaks, or can I use it for white meats too and veggies??
To expensive.
You were testing the machine not the steak. To test the steak you probably need more experience. Weird reviewer.
Indoor???
Awesome thanks nice. Too much messing around for $1000.
#Eater. DANGER!
PROPANE GRILLS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE OPERATED INSIDE A HOME. MUST BE OPERATED OUTSIDE. Can we agree?
Was there water in the drip tray? I think I see steam?
It's not steakhouse quality cause you did a lousy job cooking it. Where's the butter, herbs? Why didn't you cut up the porterhouse properly before finishing it off?

She talks white you can tell she never went through hardships in her Life
Pretty disappointing results. Glad I didn’t pull the trigger on purchasing one.
The level of mansplanation in the comments. Like some strong Charlie Kirk infiltration here.
She is the worse, how did she get this job?
1:51 i’m not a chief don’t judge my steaks
Why don’t people just charcoal barbecue? Beats gas grilled meat every time
She clearly demonstrated she doesn't know what she was doing….smh
Got a similar one for less than £50.
Idiot!
Bwaaahahahaaaa $1300 for a frickin grill? Gtfoh….absolutely absurd.
This is my second one. We have it outside the garage door exposed to the elements yearound https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxreK_FUQ74_bylFqCr3y2MHqL3u78-b3r Direct sunlight deteriorated the plastic on the thermostat and severe winds blew the lid off. We found it about an acre away. I bought a new one and I saved the good parts from the old one as spares. Got about 8 years out of the first one.
What a waste of food
If this was my company, I would sue this chick for defamation. She is not using it right, and then bashing it. I've seen this same YouTube channel destroy even simple airfrying appliances.
Saying "like" every third word is distracting.
Incompetent tester!!!!! Seriously a total joke and completely unqualified to make any determinations!!!
So glad I watch this! That’s a No
