Technically speaking, teriyaki (照り焼き) is a way of cooking typically using soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TERIYAKI SAUCE AND SOY SAUCE?
Soy sauce is a single ingredient; teriyaki usually contains at least 4 ingredients. (Soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar.)

This is best way to make Teriyaki chicken sauce. Very simple. Many people over complicate ingredients and then its not turn out correct. One of most popular Teriyaki store in Seattle use Soy sauce, mirin and corn syrup.

Don’t use vegetable oil! That oil is the worst and will clog up your arteries! Use avocado oil for high heat cooking! No inflammation
